Please help us recognize the service of the volunteers of our Cyriac D. Kappil Pro Bono Legal Clinic at a Happy Hour on May 17th. Location TBD.
We look forward to celebrating our past and current volunteers while meeting and recruiting new volunteers for our monthly pro bono clinic housed at the Indo American Center the second Saturday of every month.
Join IABA-Chicago as we spend a Saturday afternoon volunteering at the Greater Chicago Food Depository. Spouses, partners and significant others are encouraged to participate.

The Institute for Inclusion in the Legal Profession and the National Association of Women Lawyers to present a session exploring whether women and minorities collaborate as effectively as they might to advance diversity and inclusion goals, and, if they do not, what might be done to foster stronger and more effective collaborative efforts. In honor of Asian Pacific American Heritage Month, Chief Judge Timothy C. Evans, the Asian American Bar Association of Greater Chicago, the Chinese American Bar Association, the Filipino-American Bar Association, the Indian American Bar Association, the Korean American Bar Association and the judges of the Circuit Court of Cook County invite you on a special tour of the Richard J. Daley Center – the main courthouse of the Circuit Court of Cook County, one of the largest unified court systems in the world.
Join IABA-Chicago as we:
- Learn about the trial process and the legal system
- Visit a courtroom to observe an actual trial in progress
- Join in an informative session presented by a Circuit Court judge
- Receive a copy of the Circuit Court of Cook County Informational Guide
- Meet with bar association representatives

The Clinic is fully staffed by IABA’s volunteer attorneys and attorneys of all backgrounds are welcome. Client queries generally focus on the areas of immigration, family law, disability and landlord-tenant issues.
Your participation is critical to the success of this clinic.

First and second year law students who plan to spend at least part of the 2012 summer working for a non-profit organization or the government are eligible to apply for IABA’s $2,500 Public Interest Fellowship grant. The application and full rules and eligibility requirements are available here. Applicants are not required to be IABA-Chicago members or have any previous affiliation with IABA-Chicago. Applications are due by May 25, 2012.
